It’s Liberation Shabbat!

Friday night, April 26th,7pm, @Bnai Jacob—

Liberation Shabbat! A Welcome-Back and Welcome-In Kabbalat Shabbat for the Bnai Jacob Community and friends including:

· traditional and soul-lifting davening (prayer) made accessible no matter your Hebrew background. Just bring your heart 🙂
· a wine tasting (as if four cups of wine at the seder is enough– come sample some special Kosher-for-Passover vintages, courtesy of Bnai Jacob and friends!)
· a kumsitz (song-circle and music jam) on your favorite songs of freedom (Think Aretha Franklin and Bob Dylan meet Chad Gadya and Let My People Go). Bring any and all instruments (knee slapping included)

We will also include a Yizkor—Memorial Service with both traditional liturgy and contemporary reflections as part of our service. During the Passover season we remember the struggles of our ancestors, and we also remember our loved ones who are no longer with us. Whether you’re a long-time member of Bnai Jacob, a new member or a not-yet member, we especially invite you to be in community to honor those who you hold in your heart. We want to be there with you.

So please come out, this Friday April 26th, 7:00pm at Bnai Jacob (176 West Side Avenue) for Liberation Shabbat! Looking forward to spending Shabbat with you 🙂

Blessings,
R’Bronwen
